IMPORTANT : INFLUENZA A (H1N1) ADVISORY #2 New!

Dear All,

The State Health Dept has instructed UiTM, Seri Iskandar to be closed for a week beginning 22/7/09 due to wide spread Influenza Liked Illnesses (ILI). 10 students who were randomly tested have been confirmed positive to be infected with H1N1 virus. Due to close proximity of the campus and UTP, the University Management has taken some mitigation steps to protect the health and safety of students, employees and their families. Staff and students are requested to cooperate in all mitigation measures imposed by the Management. We would like to reiterate the following advisory and thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

1. Practice personal hygiene, especially washing of hands with soap and water after sneezing and coughing as this will remove germs from the skin and prevent diseases from spreading. It is advisable to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or handkerchief when sneezing or coughing.

2. Avoid going to public and crowded places where the possibility of spread of the virus is very high. This includes weekend outings in Ipoh and surrounding areas. Avoid going out of campus unless it is necessary to do so.
